10 Fun Free Things to Do in Charlotte This Fall (2026)
From fall festivals and Halloween celebrations to art, gardens, and the Thanksgiving Eve Parade, here are 10 free Charlotte outings to enjoy before the season ends.
As Charlotte locals ourselves, we’re always looking for fun things to do in the Queen City. Sometimes that means an afternoon out by ourselves, a family activity with the kids, or a date that doesn’t require an expensive reservation. Fall is a great time to explore the city, especially when the weather cools down and local calendars fill with neighborhood celebrations, cultural events, and seasonal traditions.
One of our favorite things about Charlotte is that there’s always something happening for everyone. This list features 10 activities you can attend without paying an admission fee, from Halloween fun to museum evenings and outdoor gardens. You’re invited! Bring someone along, or make an outing of it on your own.
