Fall has arrived on the menu at The Artisan’s Palate, the restaurant, cocktail bar, and art gallery on East 36th Street in Charlotte’s NoDa neighborhood. Owner and chef Christa Csoka is introducing dishes built around seasonal produce and ingredients from local growers, along with cocktails and housemade lattes inspired by the cooler months.

The restaurant is also opening up its private dining options for holiday gatherings. From a small dinner around the Community Table to a larger celebration that takes over the restaurant, guests can arrange events while enjoying the same food, drinks, and gallery atmosphere that define the NoDa space.

Among the new dishes are Italian braised lamb shank with saffron polenta, roasted squash with burrata and red pepper honey, and seared scallops over Tuscan kale orzo. Seasonal drinks range from a Pumpkin Spice Espresso Martini to cocktails featuring pear, chai, apple brandy, and pecan flavors.

Chef Christa Csoka Introduces New Fall Dishes

Csoka’s fall menu draws on ingredients from nearby producers, including Fair Share Farm, Boy & Girl Farm, and Clems Organic Garden. The emphasis on locally sourced food is part of the restaurant’s ongoing approach, which combines classical cooking techniques with flavors and ingredients from several culinary traditions.

The Italian Braised Lamb Shank & Milanese Polenta features lamb braised with wine and Italian brandy, served with locally sourced polenta, saffron, three cheeses, lamb demi-glace, and a gremolata salad. It’s listed at $41 on the supplied dinner menu. The $18 Roasted Squash Burrata combines red kuri and delicata squash, roasted parsnips, burrata, green onion confit, red pepper honey, and fried bread.

The $38 Seared Scallops with Lacinato Kale Orzo pair scallops with Tuscan kale pesto, orzo, lemon-marinated roe, fried kale, and a lemon-persimmon agrodolce. The fall lineup also includes a butternut squash soup with pear and a cinnamon panna cotta finished with apple brandy compote. The menu reflects Csoka’s preference for combining familiar comfort dishes with more elaborate preparations.

Four Fall Cocktails and Housemade Seasonal Lattes

The drinks announcement includes four cocktails. The Pumpkin Spice Espresso Martini combines vodka, Licor 43, housemade pumpkin spice syrup, and espresso. Torch Singer uses rye whiskey, pear cordial, chai tea concentrate, honey ginger shrub, cardamom bitters, and a splash of absinthe for a more spice-forward combination.

Vivian Lee brings together bourbon, ginger liqueur, pecan simple syrup, maple syrup, orange juice, and bitters. Normandy in Fall blends rum, apple brandy, Ancho Reyes, apple butter, lemon, and fall spices. Together, the drinks move beyond a single pumpkin-spice theme, using apples, pears, pecans, and ginger in different combinations.

Guests looking for coffee rather than cocktails can order housemade Pumpkin Spice and Spiced Pecan Lattes, served hot or iced. The restaurant operates a daytime coffee bar in addition to lunch, dinner, and Sunday brunch service, making the seasonal beverage menu available to customers visiting for more than an evening meal.

Holiday Parties and Private Dining in NoDa

The Artisan’s Palate is accepting inquiries for holiday dinners, company celebrations, weddings, fundraisers, and other private events. The restaurant says its spaces can be customized according to the size and style of a gathering, with options for groups that want a reserved area as well as those planning a larger event.

The Private Gallery accommodates up to 16 guests, while the Community Table seats up to 14. The Secret Garden offers an outdoor setting, and full restaurant buyouts can accommodate up to 100 guests indoors, with additional outdoor capacity available. The restaurant can discuss arrangements directly with event organizers.

Because the space doubles as an art gallery, a private event can take place among work by local artists rather than in a conventional banquet room. Anyone organizing a gathering can use the restaurant’s private-party inquiry page to discuss guest counts, dates, and specific needs before confirming an event.

Chef Christa’s Background and the Restaurant’s Art Gallery

Csoka brings more than 30 years of hospitality experience to The Artisan’s Palate. She graduated from the French Culinary Institute and trained under chefs including Jacques Pépin, Daniel Boulud, Jacques Torres, Alain Sailhac, and André Soltner. Her career includes time at Daniel in New York and at Tru and the Pump Room in Chicago before she continued her work in Charlotte.

After moving to Charlotte in 2004, she hosted dinners, catered events, and organized gatherings that helped shape the restaurant’s eventual concept. Today, the business combines globally inspired, locally sourced food with craft cocktails, wine, music, and exhibitions by artists connected to the community.

The gallery features rotating exhibitions, and the restaurant says it has supported more than 50 artists over the past five years. For October 2026, its featured artist is Marianne Huebner, whose work is influenced in part by her professional background in art therapy. The combination of art and dining is a central part of the restaurant’s identity, not simply decor around the tables.
