Lottie's Cafe Review in Charlotte, NC
An iced latte, a confetti muffin, and a warm welcome earned Lottie’s Cafe five stars on my first visit. Now this Uptown Charlotte café has me planning a return for its all-day breakfast.

Five stars for my visit, from the coffee and muffin to the friendly staff, price, location, and space. I came in for something small and left with two breakfast sandwiches on my list for next time.
A First Visit That Won Me Over
I discovered Lottie’s Cafe about a month ago, and I’m already looking forward to seconds, thirds, and all the visits after that. On my first stop, I wanted an iced latte and something small to eat. A confetti muffin with cheesecake cream took care of the food, and the café gave me plenty of reasons to come back.
This is a place I’m glad to have found in Uptown Charlotte. I loved the coffee, enjoyed the muffin, and appreciated how friendly the staff were. The space and location added to the experience. Taken together, those are the reasons I’m giving Lottie’s an easy 5 out of 5.
My first order was small, so there’s much more of the kitchen’s menu for me to explore. The all-day breakfast is where I’m headed next, particularly the Bacon Egg and Cheese on a knotted brioche bun and the Brisket Beattie’s Bagel. I hadn’t even finished planning that breakfast before the lunch menu caught my attention, too.
My Iced Latte Order
I ordered a standard iced latte with two shots of espresso and almond milk. The coffee was one of the highlights of my visit, and it’s an order I’d happily have again. For anyone coming to Lottie’s mainly for a coffee break, that’s the part of the menu I can personally recommend.
The iced latte is listed at $6.00 and up, with a choice of milk and syrup. That starting price is useful when planning an order, though selections can change the total. I thought the value was good for my visit, and price is one of the reasons behind my five-star rating.
If you prefer a more elaborate coffee, the Airplane Latte is Lottie’s signature option. It uses Biscoff cookie butter and comes hot or iced, starting at $5.75 and $6.25 respectively. I haven’t tried it yet, but it gives anyone who likes a sweeter coffee another direction to explore. The menu also covers espresso, flat whites, cappuccinos, Americanos, and matcha.
The Confetti Muffin
The muffin of the day when I visited was a confetti muffin with cheesecake cream. That was my choice to go with the latte, and I was happy with it. I’d come in wanting a small bite rather than a full breakfast, so a pastry suited the visit.
The menu lists a muffin at $4.25, with the day’s flavor available at the counter. The confetti version is the one I tried, rather than a flavor I’d expect to find on every visit. If it’s the muffin you’re coming for, ask which one is available that day.
There are other reasons to take a look at the pastry selection. The Airplane Donut is a Biscoff cheesecake donut made locally by Beyond Amazing Donuts and listed at $5.25. Apple turnovers, apple fritters, scones, and Biscoff cookies also appear on the menu. I’ll leave those for a future visit, but it’s helpful to have a few choices when coffee and a pastry are all you want.
Room to Enjoy Your Coffee
The space deserves part of the credit for how much I enjoyed Lottie’s. There’s indoor seating, and the café has room for a visit that goes beyond picking up a drink. I liked being here, which matters when I’m deciding where to return for coffee in Charlotte.
Lottie’s describes itself as an Uptown “third place,” somewhere to spend time outside home or work. With seating and Wi-Fi, it has the practical ingredients for that idea. Whether you’re meeting someone for breakfast or taking a break in Uptown, it’s a café worth keeping in mind.
The photos below show the café’s interior, bar area, and merchandise displays. They also give you a better sense of the setting before you visit. For me, the friendly staff helped make that setting feel welcoming, and service earns the same five-star rating as the coffee.
Breakfast Is Next on My List
Next time, I’m arriving hungry. The Bacon Egg and Cheese is listed at $9.75 and comes on a knotted brioche bun with bacon, an over-easy egg, cheddar, caramelized onion jam, chipotle aioli, and crushed red pepper flakes. That combination is exactly why it caught my attention.
The Brisket Beattie’s Bagel is the other breakfast I want to try. At $12.25, it combines smoked brisket, a hard egg patty, and cheddar on an everything bagel. The regular Beattie’s Bagel is $8.50 and uses sausage, cheddar, and an egg patty. Having both versions makes the choice harder in a way I’m perfectly happy to deal with on a return visit.
Breakfast runs all day, so these options aren’t limited to an early morning stop. Hugo’s Hash is another substantial choice at $16.95, with home fries, crumbled bacon, caramelized onion jam, an over-easy egg, avocado, and chipotle aioli. There’s also avocado toast, a lox bagel, and egg bites. I’m looking forward to tasting the breakfast dishes before giving them their own verdict.
A Look Beyond Breakfast
Lunch starts at 11 a.m. The Chicken Club is listed at $14.00, with chicken breast, bacon, mayonnaise, and lettuce on a brioche bun, plus chips. The Havarti Veggie Sammie is $12.00 and includes avocado mash, sprouts, pickled red onions, cherry tomatoes, and a chipotle spread with sun-dried tomatoes and pepperoncini. It also comes with chips.
Those are possibilities for another day, because breakfast has my attention first. Still, knowing there’s a lunch menu makes Lottie’s useful for more than a morning coffee run. You can check the menu below before deciding what kind of visit you want to make.
The September drink selection adds fall flavors, too. The Autumn Airplane Latte combines pumpkin pie sauce, caramel, and Biscoff cookie butter. Campfire Latte brings toasted marshmallow and pumpkin spice, while Apple Pie Chai uses apple and maple flavors. A Little Nutty pairs pistachio and toffee nut with sea salt cold foam. These are seasonal menu options, so availability can change.

An Uptown Address With a Local Story
Lottie’s Cafe is on the first floor of Queen City Quarter, the complex many Charlotte residents remember as the EpiCentre. It opened in June 2024 under owner Ashley Hines, bringing a locally owned café to a property working to rebuild its place in Uptown.
The business grew out of the Hines family’s Nostalgia Hollow Co. concept in Kannapolis, which combined coffee with retail and home goods. The café became Lottie’s in Charlotte, and Nostalgia Hollow later opened its retail operation next door in 2025. That connection helps explain the mix of café life and shopping around the space.
For visitors, the address is convenient to the Spectrum Center area, the Omni, and the Ritz-Carlton. For locals, it’s another independent business to get to know in Uptown. I’m glad my first stop gave me a reason to spend more time here.

My Final Verdict
Lottie’s Cafe gets an easy 5 out of 5 from me. I loved my iced latte and confetti muffin, the staff were friendly, and I was happy with the price, location, and space. That first visit was enough to make me want to return, this time with an appetite for the all-day breakfast. The Bacon Egg and Cheese and Brisket Beattie’s Bagel are first on my list, and I’m looking forward to seeing what else this Uptown café can do.
